Chelsea Madrigal now on the east coast has lived and performed all over Dallas, Austin, New York, Los Angeles and in Tepoztlan, Mexico and Costa Rica.
She is an “open up your soul” kind of performer, that believe it or not, you might just want to catch her playing solo with nothing but her voice of a siren swirling in a sea of melodic rhythmic guitar to intoxicate and pull you in.
These days Chelsea is mostly focused on recording and performing her new project, The Deepest Sea, founded with bandmate and co-creator J Dallar of The Wild Blue Yonder.
The Deepest Sea is a kind of live cinematic soundscape. Their music will take you on a journey from a haunting dream to the top of a lonesome mountain listening to and old country song into the wildest ocean of looping melody leaving you swaying to the lingering sounds of transcendental beats as you drift into early morning’s moonlit sky.
Whether you catch her solo performance or with her ever evolving and revolving band, it will be time well spent.
When it comes to music Chelsea is much more than just a singer/songwriter. She records, produces, mixes and is well versed in Pro-Tools and other electronic mediums. She plays the guitar and a little bit of a lot of other instruments. She has freelanced as a music supervisor and music licensor. If you need music whether it is her own or her amazing network of extremely talented artists and musicians, she will deliver.
She has played many venues to name a few, from the legendary now extinct CBGB’s Gallery, Shine, Rockwood Music Hall and Drom in New York, The Viper Room, The House Of Blues, and The Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, The Kessler Theater, Opening Bell and The House of Blues in Dallas.
She has played several benefits for some amazing organizations such as Evolution Box’s benefit for 911 at Shine in New York, Susan G. Kohmen in Los Angeles and The Go Girls Music Festival and Benefit for Promise House in Dallas. She has played music festivals such as The Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice, California to several SXSW showcases in Austin, Texas, CMJ music festival in New York, and Envision Music Festival in Costa Rica.
Her vocals and songs have been featured in several films such as Carl Colpaert’s 2004 film The Affair winner of 5 Gold Remi Awards and 2010's horror release Nostrum. She has also sang on several guest albums such as E-Reece, Non-Human Intelligence, and created original music and vocals with DJ Jackie Christie and Jim Nicholson under her project Children of Om for Bacardi and Details magazine compilation album, Night Flavours at the first re-opening of Studio 54.
